Undergraduate NanoCert® in Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT)

The undergraduate NanoCert in Open-Source Intelligence is a three-course program involving the study of intelligence analysis, denial and deception, and open source collaboration.

NanoCert Objectives

After successfully completing this NanoCert, the student will be able to:

  • Apply academic and intelligence research processes.
  • Examine content analysis, comparative analysis procedures and rational choice theory.
  • Comprehend basic theories that explain how and why denial and deception can be used to shape perception.
  • Describe the principles that determine the success of denial and deception efforts.
  • Diagnose the importance of applying objective, impartial and consistent approaches and methodologies to the handling of OSINT theory and practice.
  • Compare and contrast multiple facets of different search engines while formulating tailored semantic search terms and Boolean logic.
  • Construct OSINT intelligence products with an awareness of potential ambiguities perceived by policymakers.
